All the news, views and transfer rumours from the Etihad…
It has been a relatively quiet day in terms of Manchester City news, but with the World Cup just around the corner that is no surprise.
That said, football’s biggest tournament has thrown up a couple of City stories so here they are.
First off, the Daily Mail has revealed which Argentina players will be sharing rooms in Brazil. Whether or not this constitutes news I will leave you to decide, but here I am repeating it so I guess it is.
City striker Sergio Aguero will reportedly be sharing a room with Barcelona star Lionel Messi, while Pablo Zabaleta will share his down-time with former Liverpool midfielder Javier Mascherano.
That really is the end of the story, but at least it gives you a brief insight into a couple of City player’s lives for the next four weeks.
In other news, City’s David Silva has been speaking about the atmosphere in Brazil.
In quotes published by ESPN the play-maker said, “We know what kind of atmosphere to expect.
“We went through it last time, but at least this time we have a base whereas last time (in South Africa) we were constantly on the move. We have more stability.”
The Spanish will be hoping to make it a World Cup double; but it will be a big ask given that the conditions will favour South American teams and the holders have it tough from the start, with their opening match against Holland and with dark horses Chile to follow later this month.
