Tottenham latest, Pochettino wants to build side around striker, interest in Algerian midfielder

Emmanuel Adebayor

A selection of the latest news involving Tottenham Hotspur this Tuesday evening.

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino would like to build the side around striker Emmanuel Adebayor according to the London Evening Standard.

The striker found some pretty good form when he was welcomed back into the side in the second half of last season and the report suggests that Pochettino has the striker on a list of players he would like to keep at the club.

Spurs have moved ahead of Everton in the race to sign midfielder Yacine Brahimi according to TalkSport.

The 24-year-old is representing Algeria at this summer’s World Cup in Brazil after helping Granada avoid relegation from La Liga last season.

It is said that Brahimi could cost around £8 million.

The Daily Express is reporting that Tottenham are one of three clubs that Barcelona are awaiting offers from for their forward Alexis Sanchez.

The report states that Liverpool and Juventus, with Manchester United said to have made a bid.

Juventus have reportedly agreed personal terms with the player but no fee has been agreed, and it looks unlikely that a fee will be agreed with any club until after the World Cup.

Goalkeeper Brad Friedel has been talking to TalkSport fresh after signing a new one-year contract with the club, and the 43-year-old is excited about the future of the club under new boss Mauricio Pochettino.

He said: “He is a very nice guy, very impressive.

“Tottenham have obviously chosen him because of his Premier League experience and for the attacking football he had Southampton playing.”
