Star Wars: Battlefront E3 trailer promises authentic experience

Star Wars Battlefront E3 Trailer Screen 1

During EA’s press conference at E3 yesterday, they showed off show early in-engine footage of their new Star Wars Battlefront title being developed by DICE.

Before you get too excited you’re not going to see a whole lot of Battlefront here, but you will see some gorgeous early footage. You will get to hear how DICE are getting along with the game and what they’re doing to make sure it’s an authentic Star Wars experience.

In the video below we take a trip to DICE Studio in Sweden as Niklas Fegreaus, Design Director, talks us through some of the processes the devs have gone through, and ultimately puts fans’ minds at ease.

Having access to the Lucas archives and being able to to capture footage of the props used in the movies, leaves me hopeful that the game will at least look authentic.

Travelling to the locations in which the original movies were shot helped the devs capture the environments and the ‘emotions they invoke’ too. And I’m sure you’ll agree, the small glimpse of early in-engine footage seen in the video is incredibly impressive.

As a fan of the original Star Battlefront games I have high hopes for this reboot – DICE developed the Battlefield series, so they’ll be bringing a lot of experience from those games to Battlefront, I’m sure. Watch the video below, and let us know if the game is shaping up to be what you’d hoped.
