According to talkSport, Everton are considering making a surprise move for former Chelsea striker Samuel Eto'o.
The 33-year-old, who is now a free agent after a season-long spell at Stamford Bridge, has emerged as a priority target for the Merseyside club, although the Toffees will face competition from around Europe and Asia to secure his signature.

The experienced forward scored 12 goals in all competitions, finishing nine of his chances in the Premier League.
Based solely on total goals, Lukaku holds the monopoly over the Cameroonian, yet when the two players’ strike rates are more closely analysed, Eto’o has actually scored on a more regular basis.
A move to Everton would certainly see an increase in playing time and who is to say he cannot exceed Lukaku’s goal tally from the previous campaign? He played half as many minutes as the Belgian last season, yet he was still able to prove himself as the more clinical of the two players.
The Toffees will have to beat off global competition to land Eto’o, however. The Cameroonian international is keen to play in Europe, and the likes of Monaco and Galatasaray, who have also registered their respective interest, are able to offer the prospect of Champions League participation.
Everton will not compete in the continent's elite competition next year but will be able to provide Europa League football. Roberto Martinez will just have to hope this is enough to convince the former Chelsea-man on a move.
