We bring you news of all the biggest stories to break involving the Yorkshire clubs over the last 24 hours.
1) Alex Mowatt reveals Leeds want promotion
It has been a tumultuous summer for Leeds United so far, with the club never seemingly far away from the news, but Alex Mowatt remains focused on the task at hand in the upcoming campaign.
The youngster has said the club are determined to make, at least, the play-offs next season as they look to finally return to the Premier League.
“We want to get in the play-offs or the automatic positions," he said to the club’s official site.
"You have to aim the best you can, whether it happens or not is to be seen but you want to get there.
“Pre-season isn’t far away now. We’ll go on tour to get our fitness in and we’ll hope to start the season well.”
2) Leeds waiting over winding-up order
Leeds United will find out tomorrow whether they will be forced to pay back a loan of over £1million, according to ITV.
If they fail to pay the fee back it could result in a winding-up order for the club.
None of the Leeds squad were reportedly paid last month, with the club’s finances currently frozen.
3) Nottingham Forest beat Sheffield Wednesday to Matty Fryatt
Nottingham Forest have beaten Sheffield Wednesday, and a clutch of other clubs, to the signing of Matty Fryatt.
Wednesday were reportedly interested in bringing Fryatt back to Hillsborough, after he spent a period of last season on loan with the Owls.
However, the former Hull City front-man completed his move to Forest today and looks set to be one of their key players for the upcoming season, as Stuart Pearce looks to guide the club into the promotion spots.
4) Former Huddersfield Town defender, Calum Woods, join Preston
Calum Woods has joined Preston today on a free-transfer.
The right-back was rather surprisingly allowed to leave Huddersfield at the end of last season after his previous deal expired and he has had to take the step down to League One to find a new club.
Woods is a solid and reliable defender and he looks set to add further solidarity to a Preston defence, who were amongst the best in League One last season.
5) Sheffield United want Conor Coady and John Brayford
Sheffield United are trying to bring both Liverpool’s Conor Coady and Cardiff’s John Brayford back to the club after the pair enjoyed impressive loan spells at Brammall Lane last season.
According to the Sheffield Telegraph, the duo are among the club’s top targets for the upcoming season with Nigel Clough identifying them as two players who can help the Blades achieve promotion back to the Championship.
