All the latest news, views and transfer rumours from Anfield…

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has pulled out of England training ahead of their World Cup clash with Italy, according to Goal.

The Reds midfielder reportedly left midway through an open training session, although there was said to be no visible sign of injury.

Roy Hodgson will hope there is nothing serious as he puts the finishing touches to his preparations, for a campaign that has not been surrounded by the usual hullaballoo, which can only be a good thing for fans and players alike.

In other news, the Guardian has published an in depth interview in which Luis Suarez talks about his injury and the upcoming World Cup.

The Liverpool striker has been suffering with a knee injury and he said, “Today I could say to you, ‘Yeah, I’ll make it to the first game’ or ‘No, I prefer to wait for the second or the third’.

“But you only know for sure as you progress and you see how the knee reacts.”

He will be hoping to return as soon as possible, but he will know that rushing back will be the worst thing he can do.

And finally, Liverpool have announced the release of their official 2013-14 season review.

The club’s official website has details of the DVD release, which charts the Reds' impressive campaign, with a special mention for the double that was completed over a certain Manchester United.
