Lancashire clubs are all in the process of trying to build their squads for the start of next season, and some have been more active than others:
Simon Grayson reunited with another former Terrier at Preston North End.
Following the success of the signing of Tom Clarke from Huddersfield Town last season, Simon Grayson has brought in another defender on a free transfer from the club he previously managed. This time it is 27-year-old Calum Woods a versatile defender who was on the books of Liverpool as a youngster. Tom Clarke made an immediate impact with North End last season scoring the winner against local rivals Blackpool in the Capital One Cup and he never looked back. Grayson will be hoping Woods can follow in his footsteps.
Burnley have bid turned down for West Bromwich Albion defender
Numerous sources are reporting that Sean Dyche has identified West Brom defender Craig Dawson as a key target this summer. Sky Sports believe that the Clarets have already had a bid turned down for the former Rochdale defender. The Burnley Express suggest that the bid was in the region of £1 million and due to the fact West Brom are still without a manager following the dismissal of Pepe Mel, any major transfer dealings are unlikely to be made at this time.
David Dunn in talks over becoming player-coach for Blackburn Rovers
Blackburn Rovers are looking to make long-time servant of the club David Dunn, a player-coach at the club. The 34-year-old has struggled with injuries in the last few season, and is currently out of contract. Dunn himself want to carry on as a player for as long as he can but would also be delighted to become part of the backroom staff at Ewood Park.
Birmingham City target former Claret David Edgar
Following the expiration of his contract at Turf Moor, Canadian David Edgar is on the lookout for a new club, and it is thought Lee Clark is interested in bringing him to St Andrews. Sky Sports believe Birmingham are one of many clubs interested in Edgar, and Clark would particularly like to bring him in due to his versatility.
