Liverpool transfer news, starlet linked with Porto move, midfielder to make loan move permanent?

A selection of the latest transfer news and more involving Liverpool Football Club this Monday morning.

Portuguese newspaper O Jogo has linked Porto with a move for young Liverpool midfielder Suso.

Suso spent last season on loan at La Liga side Almeria and helped them avoid relegation, and it is unclear he has a future at Anfield – with reports previously suggesting he could be a makeweight in some of Liverpool’s transfer dealings this summer.

Sheffield United are interested in a permanent move for midfielder Conor Coady, after the youngster spent last season on loan at the League One club.

Coady scored six goals in 50 appearances for the Blades last season and managing director Mal Brannigan has told the Sheffield Star about the interest they have in Coady, and Cardiff City’s John Brayford.

He said: “Both are still with their parent clubs and we would be interested in both if the potential to do something is there.

“We’ve not had any meaningful discussions yet but the season, for those clubs, has only just finished. It might be the case that, with regards to Conor and John, something happens late in the (transfer) window.”

Away from transfers and a couple of Liverpool players have said their young team-mate Raheem Sterling could be their secret weapon at the World Cup.

Sterling hasn’t featured much in the World Cup warm-up matches so far, having been sent off in the 2-2 draw against Ecuador but Jordan Henderson is quoted in the Daily Mirror, saying:

“I think he’s outstanding, has no fear. For such a young boy he’s got great awareness and his knowledge of the game is really good. I think he can be a really big plus for us in this World Cup.”
