Erik Lamela and Sandro could be playing in Italy next season.
Tottenham Hotspur made some pretty poor choices in the Transfer Window last summer and despite the arrival of his countryman Mauricio Pochettino it seems the writing is on the wall for their record signing Erik Lamela.
The £30 million Argentine, signed from AS Roma last summer, has not settled into English life and is said to be desperate for a return to Italian football. Inter Milan are said to be interested, in fact their owner Erick Thohir has himself admitted that the Nerazzuri manager Walter Mazzari is keen to sign Lamela this summer.
But he is not the only player at White Hart Lane Napoli have their eyes on. The outspoken Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis has spoken about his transfer targets this week - mentioning Lamela and another Tottenham Hotspur player when discussing who Rafa Benitez could bring in this summer.
"Lamela? I wanted to get him a year ago. Now we have a partner for [Gonzalo] Higuain in [Duvan] Zapata, but we are still looking for a replacement for [Goran] Pandev. Sandro? He is a player that we follow. But we follow a lot of players."
Last summer Napoli made some massive moves in the transfer market - the likes of Gonzalo Higuain, Jose Callejon and Pepe Reina all arriving at the Stadio San Paulo.
This summer it seems Tottenham are the target of their vociferous advances and while Lamela is a likley target Sandro was expected to stay after the departure of Tim Sherwood - whom, it was clear, was not his best friend in the world.
But 'The Beast' is still popular with the Spurs faithful, so seeing him depart would certainly be something of a shock. However, with the pursuit of Barcelona's Javier Mascherano seemingly over, they need to look elsewhere.
Perhaps it is time for 'The Beast' to move on.
