Man United's chase for Schweinsteiger explains interest in Arsenal star

Manchester United's interest in Bastian Schweinsteiger could see Bayern Munich follow up on their interest on Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey.

According to the Daily Star, Manchester United are set to open talks to land German international Bastian Schweinsteiger from Bayern Munich following on from claims from Bundesliga expert Jan Aage Fjortoft.

The interest in Schweinsteiger, whilst exciting for Manchester United fans, could also raise the eyebrows of some Arsenal fans too.

Earlier in the week, Aaron Ramsey was linked to both Barcelona and Bayern Munich after being earmarked as a replacement for potential outgoing stars, Cesc Fabregas and Toni Kroos.

However, after recent developments with regards to both Kroos, who is now wanted by Real Madrid, and Bastian Schweinsteiger, in light of the recent Manchester United interest, the Arsenal midfielder come become the number one target for Bayern Munich this summer.

It wouldn't be surprising if Bayern did follow up on their interest; after all, he is of the quality and style of a younger Bastian Schweinsteiger and could be the long-term replacement for the German international.

Nevertheless, it will and has to be well documented that any movement by any club in world football for Aaron Ramsey is likely to be met with heavy, heavy asking price and an extremely small chance of signing him.

Ramsey's form last season, considering he is only 23 as well, was phenomenal. He was, and quite rightly, for many people the second best player in the Premier League behind Liverpool star Luis Suarez.

In fact, the impact his absence had on Arsenal during his injury was far greater than the impact on Liverpool in the absence of Suarez. And should be pitched as the number one reason to keep their man.
