Antoine Griezmann will now get his chance in the spotlight after it was confirmed last year's third best player in the world, Franck Ribery, will miss the World Cup due to a back injury.
Griezmann, 23, is likely to be the direct replacement for Ribery on the left hand side of a French attacking 4-3-3 with another Premier League targeted star in Mathieu Valbuena on the right.
Like Ribery, the Sociedad winger likes to cut inside and cause problems at the heart of the defence. However, with Griezmann being left-footed, Ribery is right-footed, he can go down the outside just as easy.
However, France, if the stats are proven right, will lose a lot of creativity in the change between Griezmann and Ribery. Although Griezmann scored six more goals than the Bayern star last season, he did create less goalscoring chances despite the Ribery playing 13 fewer matches.
Nevertheless, the intense chase for the signature of the 23-year-old is likely to heat-up if the winger is to have a good tournament in Brazil this summer.
All three Premier League clubs mentioned are supposedly interesting in signing the player, but, according to the Mirror, PSG are 'pole position' in the race.
He is definitely the one to watch in Brazil this summer, after an hugely impressive season, and could look to take the limelight of touted Premier League stars such as Raheem Sterling and Adnan Januzaj.
