Arsenal transfer news: Wenger calls for help over Morata, £10m target wants Gunners move

Arsene Wenger at Training - 18/02/2014

A round up of transfer stories about Arsenal this morning.

The Mirror claims Arsene Wenger has been in touch with French legend Zinedine Zidane over a move for Alvaro Morata.

Morata has been a long term target for the Gunners as Wenger eyes back up options to Olivier Giroud in his attack.

Zidane is an influential figure at Real Madrid and someone Wenger seemingly wants help from to do a deal.

Wenger may opt for another attacking option in the form of striker Loic Remy.

The Mirror claims Remy is desperate to force a move to North London due to his Champions League ambitions.

Remy has a £10 million buy-out clause in his QPR contract, but Arsenal could face stiff competition from Brendan Rodgers at Liverpool.

Arsenal remain linked with another Real Madrid player, club legend Iker Casillas.

Spanish newspaper AS has claimed that Wenger wants Casillas as back up for number one Wojciech Szczesny next season.

The Gunners may struggle after recent comments from Florentino Perez suggesting Casillas wants to finish his career in Spain.
