Tottenham latest, target to decide future after World Cup, club to hijack deal for Barca star?

A selection of the latest news involving Tottenham Hotspur this Friday evening.

Napoli's Valon Behrami is said to be a target of Tottenham’s, and TalkSport has reported that the midfielder will not discuss a move away from Naples until after the World Cup, and has dismissed rumours linking him with Inter Milan.

The former West Ham midfielder said: “I haven’t heard from my agent but we’re thinking about the World Cup.

“We’ll see what the president and coach think, then assess the situation.”

Another Napoli midfielder that Spurs are linked with is 28-year-old Blerim Dzemaili, but TalkSport is reporting that West Ham are also competing for his signature, with their boss Sam Allardyce having worked with him in the past at Bolton Wanderers.

Tottenham are reportedly amongst a host of Premier League clubs who may try to hijack Barcelona forward Alexis Sanchez’s move to Juventus.

This is because Juventus have submitted an offer below £20 million for the player but Tottenham would face competition from Liverpool and Manchester United according to the Daily Express.

Away from transfers, Zeki Fryers has told the Tottenham website that he is hoping to use the positives from last season’s Europa League campaign to improve next season – including an assist for Emmanuel Adebayor during the campaign.

He said: “I’ve been involved in some important games in Europe this season and I’ve enjoyed the experience.

“I think I can now take all these positives into next season and see what happens.”
