Arsenal transfer news: Gunners £9m away from first signing, Wenger wants £17m Serie A youngster

Arsene Wenger Press Conference Smiling - 16/02/2014

A round up of transfer stories this morning about Arsenal.

Arsenal have had a £6 million transfer offer for Cardiff City goalkeeper David Marshall rejected.

Marshall was one of the standout goalkeepers in the Premier League last season despite the fact Cardiff were relegated to the Championship.

The Bluebirds are thought to want a fee closer to £15 million according to previous reports if they’re going to let their shot stopper leave.

The Metro has claimed that Arsenal are readying a £17 million offer for Napoli forward Lorenzo Insigne.

Arsene Wenger is thought to be keen on the gifted young Italian attacker who is part of Italy’s World Cup squad.

Wenger is reportedly trying to engineer a situation where the Gunners can move quickly for Insigne after the tournament in Brazil.

Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny has urged Arsene Wenger to sign up to four players this summer.

The Frenchman believes several additions are needed in key areas to help the Gunners fight for the Premier League and Champions League titles.

Koscielny’s belief is that one of the forwards needs to be a top class centre forward to aid Olivier Giroud and get the best out of Mesut Ozil.
