26 days to go until the Transfer Window open. Here's the latest you need to know...
Cesc Fabregas to...?
Rumours continue to surround Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas. He was quoted in an interview published in Spain on Wednesday but only spoke to discuss his Spain World Cup dream. Teammate Gerard Pique was more candid, stating that he is undervalued at Barcelona and wants him to stay, but admitted it is complicated. Alternate reports in Spain claim Pique gave too much away, after he was heard whispering 'it's done, 33 million' to Spain boss Vicente del Bosque at a press conference. Whether he was discussing Fabregas, and who to, remains pure speculation however.
Diego Costa imminent
Could he even have been discussing this man? Another of Pique's Spain international teammates, Diego Costa is said to be close to sealing a transfer to Chelsea ahead of the World Cup. The Guardian reported on Wednesday afternoon that Costa had undergone a medical with the Blues, after telling Atletico Madrid he wanted to leave after Chelsea activated his release clause.
Another in the Can for Liverpool?
Liverpool are close to signing Emre Can from Bayer Leverkusen, report ITV. The defensive midfielder will cost £9.75 million after the Reds activated his release clause. A buy-back clause Bayern Munich can have will no longer be valid if Liverpool sign him. Can would be the second signing this week for Liverpool, following Rickie Lambert who sealed his transfer on Monday.
Tottenham's Moreno heist?
Tottenham are aiming to solve their left-back dilemma by hijacking Liverpool's move for Alberto Moreno of Sevilla, report The Mail. Spurs are willing to offer cash plus striker Roberto Soldado, so keen are they to apparently get one over on the Reds. Liverpool were widely reported to be favourites to sign the Europa League winner.
