According to Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis, Arsenal are ‘deep in conversations’ to bring in new players.
‘Transfers are obviously important and we are deep in conversations already,’ said Gazidis.
‘I am confident we will add what we need this summer.'
‘The manager is not scared to spend, has the experience, but as always will have to juggle a set budget.’
The 49-year-old declared last season ‘a great experience for the players,’ but insisted now they’re hungry for more silverware.
‘We are all really pleased with securing Champions League qualification again. Last season was a great experience for players to win the FA Cup and now we want more,’ added the Arsenal chief executive.
On the subject of Arsene Wenger’s new three-year deal at the club, the defiant Gazidis labelled the French manager as irreplaceable, commenting: ‘Arsene is impossible to replace. He has given us the footballing philosophy we have now.'
‘Arsene’s legacy is based on him wanting to take Arsenal to the next level, and everything he did and still does is for the future of the club.’
The Gunners have been linked with several players in the early days of the window, including the likes of Cesc Fabregas, Serge Aurier, Alvaro Morata and Mario Balotelli, but the Arsenal man wouldn’t be drawn into name dropping any of the targets.
Although he did concede Arsenal would not take up their previously agreed option to sign former star Cesc Fabregas, who Chelsea now look heavy favourite to sign.
Nevertheless, the news of transfer talk will be hugely encouraging for Arsenal fans
