It's clear to see in an instant why Louis van Gaal would want Bastian Schweinsteiger at Manchester United.
The 29-year-old German is reported to be expendable at Bayern Munich, with better fits for Pep Guardiola's system available at the club.
In Schweinsteiger, Van Gaal would have a clear leader to join United's midfield, one who befits his own confident personality.
The Bayern captain told BILD this week: "There are for example, many technically incredibly good young footballers who can hold up the ball 1,000 times, all the tricks it has. But most of them still do not make it to become a professional footballer.
"Talent is not enough. One needs in addition to the absolute will and also a great perseverance to get to the top."
Van Gaal has managed Schweinsteiger before, at Bayern Munich with the midfielder an integral part of the clu's success.
The Dutchman even copped a soaking, drenched with beer after Bayern won the 2008 Bundesliga title by the midfielder.
That would certainly be a scenario he would welcome at the end of the campaign should the German be tempted to Old Trafford this summer.
If Schweinsteiger is likely to go anywhere, the lure of working alongside a coach with who he enjoyed so much success is going to be hard to resist.
