Ghanaian witch doctor claims he caused Ronaldo's knee injury

A Ghanaian witch doctor has claimed that he is responsible for Cristiano Ronaldo's knee injury that could put his World Cup in peril.

Nana Kwaku Bonsam is viewed by many as Ghana's most influential witch doctor, and he is "very serious about" the injury that he has been predicting since February.

In an interview with the Ghanaian radio station Angel FM, Bonsam revealed: “I know what Cristiano Ronaldo’s injury is about, I’m working on him."

His name translates literally as "Devil of Wednesday" and despite the fact that Ghana will actually face Portugal on a Thursday, the witch doctor believes that he has done enough to ensure that the Real Madrid winger will miss the game against the Black Stars.

“I am very serious about it. Last week, I went around looking for four dogs and I got them to be used in manufacturing a special spirit called Kahwiri Kapam.

“I said it four months ago that I will work on Cristiano Ronaldo seriously and rule him out of the World up or at least prevent him from playing against Ghana and the best thing I can do is to keep him out through injury."

The Portuguese FA confirmed yesterday that Ronaldo is suffering from tendinosis in his left knee as well as dealing with a muscle problem in his left thigh, though the Ballon d'Or winner is not yet ruled out of the tournament.

Ghana face Portugal in their final match in Group G - this year's Group of Death on June 26 and will also face the USA and Germany beforehand.

The African side were brilliant in South Africa and managed to get to the quarter-finals before Uruguay knocked them out in penalties in a game remembered for Luis Suarez' handball in the final minutes of the match.

They may be helped by their nations best witch doctor who is doing all he can to make sure the influential Ronaldo misses the game against Ghana, and claims that the former Manchester United man will pick up another injury in the next few days, and explains that none of these problems are curable.

“This injury can never be cured by any medic, they can never see what is causing the injury because it is spiritual. Today, it is his knee, tomorrow it is his thigh, next day it is something else.”

Will Portugal be able to progress without Ronaldo?
