The PSG defender has played against Eto'o on several occasions in his career and they most recently met in the Champions League quarter-finals as Chelsea knocked the French club out of the competition.
Silva is not underestimating the Cameroon striker, who captains the African side, and feels he will provide the biggest threat in the host nations group games.
“I can talk about Eto'o, I've played against him recently and faced him when I was at AC Milan playing against Inter Milan.
“I know how skilful he is, a very skilful and experienced player. I believe he is stronger now.
Brazil face Cameroon in their final group game on June 23, and the Brazilian defender is ready to take on the former Barcelona and Inter star, and praised his abilities in an interview ahead of the World Cup.
“He is impressive, if you give him just a small space he’s a killer, you can’t blink,” Silva added.
Eto'o played alongside David Luiz for Chelsea in the last campaign, and the Brazilian will partner Thiago Silva in defence at the tournament with the pair also set to line up for Paris Saint-Germain next season after a the Blues accepted a £40 million bid from the French giants.
Luiz and Silva will likely form a lethal partnership, and the pace and power they possess as centre-halves make it a real challenge for any striker to break through.
Eto'o will be confident however, having scored 56 goals in 117 appearances for Cameroon including two at the last World Cup in South Africa.
He got the first goal in the African side's impressive 2-2 draw with Germany at the weekend and will look to be a real force come June 13 when his side open their campaign against Mexico.
