Jose Mourinho: Yes I want ex-Arsenal star Fabregas at Chelsea

Mourinho Press Conference Still

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has confirmed his interest in bringing former Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas to the club.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has broken his silence on the Cesc Fabregas rumours.

He is quoted by Spanish paper Mundo Deportivo as saying:

"I think he's anxious to get out of Barcelona and very motivated by the idea of returning to England. I believe it's pretty clear. I'm interested to study the situation."

"Either for us or for someone else, is not a subject for today, tomorrow or before the World Cup. We have to see how the situation evolves."

Chelsea striker Fernando Torres earlier was quoted as backing Fabregas to join the Blues:

"He [Fabregas] is a kind of player that Chelsea don't have at the moment. Great players are always great signings. We know him well, he was one of the best players in the Premier League while playing for Arsenal and is a player who brings a lot to the team."

Torres is widely claimed to be Chelsea bound, but so far no deal has been confirmed despite reports to the contrary.
