Clubs still negotiating price, but Sevilla star agrees personal terms with Liverpool

Alberto Moreno Perez

Sevilla left-back Alberto Moreno has agreed a personal terms on a five-year deal with Liverpool, according to reports, but no fee has yet been agreed.

According to the Spanish newspaper El Confidencial, Sevilla left-back Alberto Moreno has agreed personal terms on a five-year deal to join Liverpool.

The Reds boss Brendan Rodgers has been keen to get a number of deals done early this summer, with Rickie Lambert and Emre Can already completed and Adam Lallana and Xherdan Shaqiri rumoured to be close.

The left-back spot, however, has been identified as a priority for the Northern Irishman and the Spanish international Alberto Moreno fits the bill.

The 22-year-old joined up with the Spanish national team ahead of this summer’s World Cup, though it was reported by Estadio Deportivo that the Sevilla man was set for a medical today.

Whilst those reports have appeared to be wide of the mark, the latest reports coming out of Spain suggest that a deal is agonisingly close, and bats off suggestions Tottenham were likely to steal in for his signature.

El Confidencial say that whilst the two clubs are still negotiating a deal, with the transfer fee expected to succeed €20million, Alberto Moreno has agreed to join the Merseysiders on a five-year deal.

He could be in Liverpool next week for an official presentation, and his alleged arrival will undoubtedly be met with optimism by the Reds supporters.

Since breaking into the Sevilla first-team, Alberto Moreno has gone on to represent the club 61 times.

His fabulous season was concluded in the best way possible, as he won the Europa League and earned his place in Vicente Del Bosque’s 23-man World Cup squad.
