Bundesliga expert: No truth in Arsenal signing German Player of the Year

Marco Reus

Jan Aage Fjorfoft has dismissed reports out of hand that Arsenal are considering a move for Marco Reus.

Speculative reports this week claimed that Arsenal wanted to launch a move for Borussia Dortmund's Marco Reus.

The lively attacker was recently voted the German Player of the Year, and the Gunners being interested is at least logical, as would any side be across Europe.

But a genuine interest? Not apparently.

Bundesliga pundit Jan Aage Fjortoft has dismissed the rumours as untrue, quite adamantly via his Twitter page when asked.

A report earlier in the week on caughtoffside claimed the Gunners were going to launch a £45 million bid, one which appears to have been ignored by the national media.

It was not one we referenced at HITC either until Fjortoft addressing it brought it back into the public domain.

Reus is sponsored by Puma, who are manufacturing Arsenal's kits from next season, but given they also have a deal with Dortmund, they are unlikely to get involved and compromise either interest.
