Manchester City latest: Agent suggests City move; no Fernando transfer this week

All the latest news, views and transfer rumours from the Etihad…

Following reports that Napoli had offered Arsenal defender and Manchester City target Bacary Sagna a two-year deal, spoke to the player’s agent for some clarification.

Laurent Gutsmuth is quoted as saying, “It’s true that we have been contacted (by Napoli) but for information only. We did not talk about figures.”

And when asked about Sagna’s current situation, Gutsmuth is quoted as saying, “He should sign with Manchester City.”

It would come as no surprise if that was the case, given the recent speculation. And if the move goes through Sagna will become the latest player to swap Arsenal for the Etihad.

In other news, Yaya Toure is nursing an injury that could see his World Cup participation in some doubt according to the Daily Mail.

The Ivory Coast midfielder has a thigh injury and was seen wincing during pre-tournament training earlier this week.

And finally, ESPN reports that Fernando’s move from FC Porto is unlikely to go through this week.

Previous rumours had suggested the midfielder would complete his switch soon but a source has allegedly told the media outlet Manuel Pellegrini will not get his man just yet, if at all.
