Arsenal latest: Sagna replacement blow, striker drops hint and Schmeichel off the market

All the latest news and gossip from the past 24 hours at The Emirates Stadium.

Alvaro Morata no longer looks like being on the way to Arsenal this summer - after Tweeting a picture of himself in his new Real Madrid kit for next season.

The striker, who is not a regular at The Bernabeu, has also been linked with a move to Juventus this summer, but his Tweet today suggests he will be happy to stay with his current club - and bid his time for regular football.

One potential Arsenal goalkeeper target has now been scrubbed off the shopping list. Leicester City stopper Kasper Schmeichel had been linked with replacing Lukasz Fabianski as the main contender to Wojciech Szczesny at the club - however he has signed an extension to his deal with The Foxes meaning The Gunners will have to look elsewhere, if they weren't already.

Arsenal are believed to be targeting somebody from the German national team, but not Julian Draxler or Marco Reus.

Instead they are said to be looking at Germany's fitness guru Shad Forsythe as Arsene Wenger wants to eradicate the continued injury problems that plague the club seemingly every season.

The club have seen the likes of Aaron Ramsey, Theo Walcott, Jack Wilshere and co all struggle with injury over the past few seasons. They are set to revamp the squad's fitness regime for next season.

Kim Kallstrom has been backing fellow Swede Kristoffer Olsson to come good in the future. The Swedish international, who spent time on loan at Arsenal last season, believes he has the ability to make it - but was also not sure whether he will get the chance.

Atletico Madrid right-back Juanfran, who has been linked as a potential Bacary Sagna replacement, has made it clear he has no intention of leaving Atletico.

"I know there was interest from Arsenal, and that it was last year, but there has been no offer of any kind. I feel 100% Atletico."
