Roma could look to Dembélé

Roma could turn to Tottenham man Moussa Dembélé as they are scared of losing Miralem Pjanic, according to Italian reports.

Belgian midfielder Moussa Dembélé is tipped for the top by many Tottenham fans and Roma are reportedly keeping a close eye on him.

The 26-year-old has reportedly become frustrated with the role he has been asked to play at White Hart Lane and could be open to a move.

Dembélé played 22 of Tottenham's 38 Premier League games last season but it has been suggested that the arrival of Mauricio Pochettino could further jeopardise his position, especially if Adam Lallana follows him from Southampton.

Roma are said to be exploring their options as they fear star midfielder Miralem Pjanic could still quit the club at any point.

Pjanic had been a target for Manchester United and appeared to flirt publicly with Barcelona, but Roma managed to tie him down to a new contract.

Reports from Sky Italia suggest that Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini is drawing up a list of potential replacements for Pjanic just in case.

Dembélé is believed to be on that list and Sabatini has told scouts to report on him while trying to work out a valuation.

Should Roma lose Pjanic they would have a significant sum of money to spend on a replacement, but they could face competition from Everton.

Everton manager Roberto Martinez is reportedly a big fan of Dembélé and weighing up making an approach.
