A select round-up of the latest news relating to Manchester United...

The Mirror reports that Manchester United have ruled themselves out of the running for Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas; this despite ongoing suggestions the Spaniard could be turning out at Old Trafford next season.

The English paper claims Chelsea are in the box-seat for the former Arsenal player’s signature. And yet yesterday they ran a story claiming the player’s entourage believe United is his most likely destination.

Yes, the claims and counter-claims are in full swing, and expect them to continue for much of the summer.

United fans will simply be hoping they get the players they need prior to the new campaign, and if the Fabregas reports are a smokescreen, then so be it.

In other news, Tottenham Hotspur have entered the race for reported United target Daryl Janmaat according to the Daily Mail.

The paper claims Spurs have made contact with the Feyenoord right-back, who is also interesting both Louis van Gaal’s side and Italian club Napoli and is said to be valued at £6million.

Doubts remain over the long-term future of current right-back Rafael, and with Janmaat featuring for van Gaal’s Dutch side it would be no surprise if there was interest from the 62-year-old.
