HUNT: Horrors of the Gilded Age – a brand new IP from Crytek

In the run up to E3 the game reveals are coming thick and fast, and Crytek has just revealed its newest IP for PC, but also mentions consoles too.

A third-person co-op action game, in which players must slay mythical creatures from the world of folklore, HUNT: Horrors of the Gilded Age is the debut title from Crytek USA Corp.

"In HUNT: Horrors of the Gilded Age, players will be counting their bullets and crying out for help as they delve deeper into the shadowy world we've created. From the outset of the development process, we've poured our imaginations into the game so that everyone who plays HUNT will discover a challenging experience that feels fresh, captivating and rich in possibilities,” said Crytek USA Corp. CEO, David Adams.

The game takes place in the late 1800s where myths and folklore ring true. As a hunter, players must fend off creatures who inhabit territories that have been occupied by them.

A ‘special content generation system’ ensures the environments and enemies you face are never the same each time you venture out. To overcome the ‘gruelling boss battles’ players will need to work closely together too, which sounds a lot like Left 4 Dead, or upcoming co-op game Evolve.

HUNT: Horrors of the Gilded Age is getting a closed beta on PC later this year, and you can sign up over on the website.

The game will be on show at E3 in Los Angeles next week, so we’ll no doubt hear more about it then, but for now have a look at the trailer below.

HUNT: Horrors of the Gilded Age will be available on PC and consoles, but specific consoles are yet to be announced.
