Sevilla left-back Alberto Moreno will have a medical on Thursday prior to his reported €22million move to Liverpool according to a Spanish newspaper.
Stories on Monday claimed it was only a matter of hours before Moreno joined Rickie Lambert in becoming a Liverpool player. But it now appears Reds fans will have to wait a little longer to see another new arrival.
Estadio Deportivo reports that Liverpool wish to complete a transfer quickly given the interest from other clubs in the 21-year-old. As a result, a medical will reportedly take place later this week and – if all goes well – the move will be completed before the weekend.
The report also suggests that Iago Aspas could be going in the other direction after a disappointing debut campaign at Anfield.
However, with Sevilla said to have rejected a player-plus-cash deal involving Suso, it remains to be seen what involvement – if any – Aspas has in the mooted deal.
Liverpool have also been linked with right-back Serge Aurier in recent hours, and it seems Brendan Rodgers is keen to get the majority of his transfer business done prior to the World Cup. But unlike Lambert, Moreno will not come cheap.
