28 days until the Transfer Window opens. Here is a round-up of all the big news you need to know...
1) Chelsea appear to be clear frontrunners in the Cesc Fabregas chase, ahead of with rivals Arsenal, Manchester and Manchester United. Spanish paper Marca even claim Chelsea orchestrated Fabregas' visit to London at the weekend:
"Fàbregas was in London and various sources have revealed that Chelsea had the player flown over to the British capital on a private jet for a fleeting visit."
The paper go onto speculate the midfielder may even have had a medical with the club, adding that their sources for this are unconfirmed.
They add that Manchester City are not giving up despite claims otherwise, with his agent apparently in discussions with 'several clubs' over the weekend.
Fabregas joining up with Jose Mourinho still appears to be the most unlikely of partnerships thanks to their previous rivalries, at Arsenal and Barcelona, so we will reserve judgement on this one at present, but there appears to be real momentum to suggest the Blues are moving forward towards a deal.
Chelsea this evening confirmed Frank Lampard will not return to the club, and will be released on a free transfer at the end of the month.
2) Arsenal themselves are linked with a very Arsenal-like move, targeting French prospect Jean-Christoph Bahebeck.
It is his recent performances in the Toulon youth tournament however, where he scored four goals in four games, which are said to have attracted Arsenal's interest.
3) Tottenham want to sign Ryan Bertrand from Chelsea, claim The Star. The former England under-21 international is not thought to figure in Jose Mourinho's first team plans, and was sent on loan to Aston Villa for the second half of last season.
At Tottenham he would compete with Danny Rose, while Liverpool are also credited with holding an interest in the defender. The Reds are however pushing ahead with a deal to try and sign Alberto Moreno from Sevilla, and Bertrand is just thought to be a fall-back option at this stage.
