Real Madrid's Gareth Bale: Next season I will be even better

The ex-Tottenham man has stated that he is looking to build on his debut campaign in the Spanish capital with a strong 2014-15.

Gareth Bale set a new world record transfer record last summer with his move from Tottenham to Real Madrid, with the Welshman the latest attacking weapon for the Santiago Bernabeu side.

The former Spurs man scored in the Champions League final and played a key role in Carlo Ancelotti’s men claiming La Decima.

After a slow start Bale won over the Madrid faithful and has stated that he can still improve.

"I'm really happy at Real Madrid and next year I'm sure I'll be better,” Bale told Marca.

Madrid won a double with Champions League and Copa del Rey glory in 2013-14, and Bale has pinpointed the goal for next season.

"We want to retain the Champions League next season and become the first team to win two consecutively,” he said.

Tottenham have felt the burden of selling their best player this season, finishing sixth and struggling to keep pace with the top sides in the Premier League.

Bale also scored in the Copa del Rey final, with an outstanding individual goal giving Los Blancos victory over Barcelona.
