Manchester City latest: Chelsea star linked with Etihad move; Aguero’s special message

All the latest news, views and transfer rumours from the Emirates…

Manchester City will try to convince Frank Lampard to join them on a short-term deal according to the Metro.

The Chelsea midfielder is reportedly on the verge of signing for MLS side New York City, but with their season not starting until March 2015, the England international may need a short-term deal elsewhere. That has seen City linked with a bold if unlikely move.

And yet with New York City being the Blues’ new franchise there is a chance – however slim – that the deal could happen.

In other news, City have not made the same mistake twice, as they have wished Sergio Aguero a Happy Birthday following the Yaya Toure episode.

The Mirror reports that City posted a special message to the Argentine striker, just weeks after reportedly snubbing the Ivory Coast midfielder on his special day.

And finally, Joe Hart has given an exclusive interview to the Mirror in which he spoke about penalties, the World Cup as a whole and who he prefers to share a room with on England duty.

“I don’t think anything can prepare you for the real thing,” Hart said of Brazil 2014. “It’s a great chance to enjoy a really special tournament.”

He will be hoping to avoid the blooper reels in which too many former England ‘keepers now find themselves. But as for his time away from the pitch, he revealed who is usually seen hanging round with.

“I spend most of my time in that England squad with James Milner, being at Manchester City with him,” Hart added. “There’s a lot more to him than people think.”
