Liverpool look like having a busy day, with a report claiming they could soon close a deal for Sevilla left-back Alberto Moreno.
The Reds officially announced the £4million signing of Rickie Lambert from Southampton this morning. But that could just be the start, with Spanish newspaper Marca claiming they are just hours away from completing a deal for Moreno.
The 21-year-old left-back has been linked with a move to Anfield for some time, with Brendan Rodgers reportedly prepared to offer Suso in part-exchange.
However, it has since been stated that the La Liga side favour a straight cash deal and that the Reds could go as high as €22million.
If the report proves to be true, it appears Rodgers is following the pattern of last year’s transfer window, when he completed a number of deals early in the close-season.
With 43 appearances for Sevilla last season, Moreno is relatively experienced considering his age. And he could prove to be the solution to Liverpool’s long-standing problems at left-back, allowing Jon Flanagan to blossom in his preferred position on the right.
