Inter and Fiorentina have been tracking Blerim Dzemaili for some time, but it seems that they could face competition from the Premier League.
The midfielder is headed to the World Cup as part of Ottmar Hitzfeld's Switzerland squad, but he appears to be seen as surplus to requirements by Napoli boss Rafa Benitez.
Dzemaili signed for Bolton in 2007 but he ruptured his cruciate knee ligament and only ever made one appearance as a substitute.
The 28-year-old had started his career as a much-hyped prospect for FC Zurich and after his Bolton experience went on to make a name for himself at Torino and Parma before joining Napoli in 2011.
Last season, Dzemaili struggled to convince Benitez has was worthy of a regular starting place and is expected to follow countryman Valon Behrami out of Napoli.
Tottenham have also been linked with Behrami, who is in advanced talks with Inter that have stalled somewhat over Napoli's valuation.
Dzemaili is under contract until June 2015 and Napoli will be keen to get a fee for him this summer if he isn't seen as important for next season to prevent him leaving for free at the end of the 2014-15 campaign.
