Tottenham are interested in Chelsea left-back Ryan Bertrand according to the London Evening Standard, with new boss Mauricio Pochettino said to be considering a £6m bid for the player.

The report says that Pochettino was interested in the player during his time at Southampton given the speculation surrounding their left-back Luke Shaw, but has identified left-back as an area that needs strengthening at White Hart Lane.

Bertrand spent the second half of the season on loan from Chelsea with Aston Villa.

The Evening Standard is also reporting that Emmanuel Adebayor would like to stay at Tottenham even though it means he will have to take a pay cut.

Monaco are said to be interested in the striker and his wages are set to halve if he is to sign a new deal.

Defender Jan Vertonghen is a player who has been catching the eye of a few top European clubs, and Napoli are interested according to TalkSport.

They’re reporting that Rafa Benitez’s side are prepared to offer cash plus Goran Pandev in exchange for the Belgium defender.

Away from transfers and young midfielder Milos Veljkovic has told the Tottenham website that he’s thankful for the first team experience he got during the last season.

The 18-year-old said: “You get to see things a little bit nearer than is possible from the stands and you also experience the half-time team-talks and everything, so that was a good experience for me.

“It’s been an amazing time and obviously I’m very pleased.

“My first goal was to get on the pitch, which I’ve now achieved, and hopefully I will be able to build on that.”
