Liverpool transfer news, Lallana may have to force move, club closes in on left-back

A selection of the latest transfer news involving Liverpool Football Club this Monday morning.

Adam Lallana must put in a transfer request to force his move through from Southampton to Liverpool according to the Liverpool Echo.

The Reds upped their bid from £20 million to £25 million over the weekend, and the Saints are believed to be stalling over a potential move for the 26-year-old midfielder, who has made it clear he wants to play Champions League football next season.

The report says Southampton are after a fee closer to £30 million. Liverpool are still hopeful of getting a deal done before the World Cup with England boss Roy Hodgson believed to have no problems over officials travelling to England’s training camp to discuss terms.

A picture has been circulating the internet showing Rickie Lambert appearing to sign a contract whilst wearing a Liverpool training shirt.

Lambert was on Merseyside over the weekend undergoing a medical ahead of a £4 million move from Southampton to his boyhood club – which is expected to be officially confirmed today.

The Northern Echo is reporting that Sunderland are hopeful that Liverpool’s signing of Lambert could aid the Black Cats to sign Fabio Borini, who spent the past season on loan at the Stadium of Light.

One deal that does appear to be getting closer is that of left-back Alberto Moreno from Sevilla.

The Reds are believed to be willing to pay an initial £16 million fee for the 21-year-old defender who has just missed out on the Spain squad, and the player is said to be keen on a move to Anfield according to the Daily Mirror.
