Man United, Liverpool target Ivan Rakitic "has three offers on table"

Ivan Rakitic

The Sevilla playmaker is hot property, with his father saying Atletico Madrid, Barcelona and Real Madrid have approached him.

Croatia’s World Cup hopes will largely depend on the central midfield axis of Luka Modric and Ivan Rakitic, who have both had excellent campaigns in La Liga.

The Sevilla playmaker had a significant part to play in the club’s Europa League success and his standout performances have led to speculation over his future.

With talk that Manchester United and Liverpool are both keeping a close eye on the Croatia international, it appears the Premier League sides have competition for Rakitic’s hand.

The midfielder’s father has stated that Spain’s big three clubs have made an approach for Rakitic already.

“Look, his brother Dejan, who looks after Ivan's career has offers from Real Madrid, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid on the table,” Luka Rakitic told Jutarnji.

“ But we will decide after the World Cup. That’s when discussions will begin.

“Saying that, the conditions that are being offered are no better than those presented by Sevilla, and Ivan is a god there. Yet Barcelona is still Barcelona.”

It appears that Rakitic is set to cause something of a transfer tussle this summer, especially if he can show his ability at the World Cup.

Sevilla have proven in the past that they will part with their best players for favourable transfer fees.
