The Switzerland international is clearly feeling unsettled in Bavaria and could well be on his way this summer.
With the array of attacking talent at Bayern Munich’s disposal, it is only natural that some players will feel unappreciated.
Xherdan Shaqiri has not been given a consistent run in the team recently due to the presence of Frank Ribery and Arjen Robben – and is clearly unsettled in his current role.
With speculation ramping up that both Liverpool and Manchester United are looking at the Swiss midfielder as a potential signing this summer, Shaqiri has dropped another hint that he could leave the Allianz Arena in the off-season.
“I felt Heynckes had more faith in me,” the former Basel man told 20 Minuten.
“But maybe that is also because Guardiola talks to us less.”
Despite not being given the time on the pitch that he craves, Shaqiri said he felt he had improved during the last two years in Germany.
“I have gained more experience and I have improved in a sporting sense as well – I have got better,” he said.
Shaqiri is set to play an important role for Switzerland this summer in the World Cup.
Standout performances would be sure to appeal to his suitors, with potential for a transfer scramble following the competition.
