According to Sky Sources, Tottenham Hotspur are not planning on making any bids for Southampton's Adam Lallana.
Mauricio Pochettino’s arrival at White Hart Lane increased speculation linking Spurs with a move for the Southampton captain, but the London outfit are reportedly uninterested in pursuing the matter any further.
Lallana has been subject to a £25million from Liverpool in recent days and has attracted further interest from a number of other Premier League clubs and rumours suggesting Tottenham were ready to hijack a potential deal with the Anfield club have now been dismissed.
Tottenham enjoyed a £100million spending spree in an attempt to replace Gareth Bale last season and, after introducing a plethora of attacking talent, the club feel the midfielder would only prove surplus to requirements.
Brendan Rodgers’ side, however, have reportedly stepped up the chase for the Southampton player’s services, in an attempt to increase squad quality and depth ahead of a potential Champions League run next season.
Lallana has made over 200 appearances for Southampton, scoring 48 goals in total. However, his St Mary’s career, like a number of the club’s players, appears to be nearing its end.
The club are expecting a mass exodus over the coming months. They are currently having to deal with the sale of Lambert and potentially Lallana, as well as the pursuit of Shaw by Manchester United. Several others, including Jay Rodriguez and Dejan Lovren, could also be set to depart.
