The England national football team are off to Miami for their final two friendly internationals before the World Cup finals, and the players are relishing the journey.
After playing against Ecuador and Honduras on June 4 and June 7 respectively as part of their preparations for the World Cup, the Three Lions will fly to host country Brazil.
It promises to be a great adventure for many of England’s players, who will be featuring in their first ever World Cup.
Jack Wilshere and Adam Lallana are two of them, and both seem to be relishing the prospect of featuring in football’s biggest competition, as illustrated by the following post by the Arsenal midfielder on social networking site Twitter and this photo on Instagram.
England manager Roy Hodgson is taking quite a young team to Brazil and some, including Italian legend Gennaro Gattuso (read his criticisms here), have raised doubts on whether the Three Lions can indeed be successful.
However, all the players who have made it to the final 23-man squad have done so deservedly. While Wilshere has struggled with injuries this year, he has proved his fitness and his talent remains evident. Lallana has enjoyed a brilliant 2013-14 campaign for Southampton and has been strongly linked with a move to Liverpool.
England’s chances of winning the World Cup in Brazil are slim – very slim, in fact – but then again, hope springs eternal...
