The Liverpool attacker’s lawyer has stated that the forward is settled at Anfield but that the Spaniards’ financial clout could be hard to refuse.
This time 12 months ago Luis Suarez was doing all he could to leave Liverpool, with Champions League football the goal for the talented Uruguayan.
After a momentous 2013-14 campaign, the PFA Player of the Year seems much more settled at Anfield, despite rumblings that Real Madrid will make a move for him this summer.
Suarez is central to Liverpool’s hopes of progressing next season and the Kop will have their fingers crossed that the South American rejects any advances by the Spanish giants this summer.
The former Ajax man’s lawyer has been speaking about the potential for a move to the Santiago Bernabeu and admitted that the financial clout of Madrid could be difficult for Liverpool and Suarez to turn down.
“A year ago he was very likely to leave Liverpool,” Alejandro Balbi told Cadena Ser.
“Now I think it is very difficult because he is an idol, although clubs can offer a lot of money.
“If there is such a big offer from Real Madrid, it is very difficult to say no. Luis Suarez has always had a predisposition for Spain.”
Suarez is currently trying to recover from injury in time to feature for Uruguay at this summer’s World Cup.
The attacker signed a new Liverpool contract last season and the Merseysiders have no inclination of letting him go.
