Manchester United have been linked with a litany of players over the summer, with new boss Louis van Gaal set to reshape a team that limped along to seventh place in the Premier League last term. With that in mind he is reportedly looking to plunder his knowledge of the Bundesliga, from his time as Bayern Munich coach, to bring in talented players.
One name that has been mentioned with United in mind for several months now is Borussia Dortmund star Marco Reus. The talented playmaker has a release clause of £30 million in his contract and is certainly the type of player United need and he is still young - in fact he turned just 25-years-old today.
And one man wishing him a Happy Birthday swapped the Bundesliga for the Premier League this time last summer. Chelsea forward Andre Schurrle is currently on international duty with Reus, and he shared this picture of the pair via his Instagram account today - with the attached message:
Happy birthday to my bro @marcinho11
But the Chelsea man should not worry about having to face him next season. Reus has made it clear he wants to stay just where he is for now. But who knows where Schurrle will be sending Reus' birthday card next summer.
