Sami Khedira has only just recovered from a serious knee injury, when this happened yesterday...
There was a moment of panic in the German national team yesterday, when a player they desperately need to stay fit went down during a training match.
Germany head into the World Cup bereft of options in the heart of midfield. With Lars Bender and Sven Bender both missing out because of injury the onus is really on Sami Khedira to prove his fitness and make the starting XI for the beginning of the tournament.
The Real Madrid man, who is also a reported £15 million target for Arsenal this summer, only recently returned after a hefty time on the sidelines with a cruciate ligament injury, so he is already deemed delicate in the first place. So this sight is not pleasant viewing for German fans...

Germany were taking on their Under-20 compatriots in a warm up game yesterday, including Arsenal youngster Thomas Eisfeld, but things took a sour note when a clumsy but innocent challenge from Bayer Leverkusen youngster Malcolm Cacutalua saw Khedira clutching his knee in agony.
The midfielder, who Arsenal star Mesut Ozil recently dubbed the first World Cup hero, immediately went to be checked out by the national team doctor Sepp Scmidt and was given the all clear - so Germany fans can breathe a sigh of relief.
