Bacary Sagna issued an exit statement earlier this week, effectively confirming one of the worst kept secrets surrounding Arsenal - that he will not renew terms with the North London Gunners as there were contractual disagreements at the negotiating table.
The Frenchman, one of the most reliable players in his position; right back, is now a lock to sign terms with Manchester City, whom are reportedly willing to offer him a handsome remuneration worth anywhere between £120,000 per week and £150k/week.
Sagna told L'Equipe: “It’s no longer a secret, I will leave Arsenal for sure. They tried to make an effort, but the discussions have not gone in the direction I wished it.”
The move has perplexed BBC Match of the Day anchor and Tottenham Hotspur strike legend Gary Lineker, who believes the player with whom he will compete for the primary right back position, Pablo Zabaleta, is better than he is, leaving Sagna likely to receive far more bench time than he ever did at Arsenal, under Arsene Wenger.
Bacary Sagna has said he's played his last game for AFC. Rumoured to be MCFC bound. Strange one as not in the same league as Zabaleta.— Gary Lineker (@GaryLineker) May 29, 2014
Is Lineker even right in his assertion?

The statistics indicate that Sagna sees far more of the football on a per game basis, but - aside from clearing - it is Zabaleta who contributes more defensive actions. They are inseparable when it comes to forward dribbles and clean sheets, while Sagna is more precise when whipping in crosses for the attackers.
