Reports in Spain are continuing to suggest that former Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas will be leaving current club Barcelona this summer, after reportedly deciding he wants a move back to the Premier League.
The obvious first option was Manchester United. They chased him last summer, David Moyes was the manager of the club at the time and it was no secret he was interested in bringing him to Old Trafford.
The management in Manchester has changed this summer, Louis van Gaal is instead the man in charge at the Theatre of Dreams. He is believed to not be so keen on the Spanish international, and the United interest has reportedly dried up - so what next for Fabregas.
Well he has several options. Firstly there is the return to Arsenal. They have a reported buyback option in his contract meaning they can bring the former hero back to North London.
Meanwhile Manchester City are also said to be interested in the player - with Yaya Toure unhappy at the club they might just need a top quality replacement.
So what about Barcelona, are they prepared to sell?
The answer, according to Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu. is no.
He has been speaking in Spain about many things, including the future of Fabregas at the club. He went on to make it very clear that Fabregas would be going nowhere this summer:
"We do not want to sell players. Barca does not want to sell Cesc Fabregas and other players emerging in the market."
So it would appear that despite the continued speculation linking him with a move away from the Catalan club, the former Arsenal captain will be staying at the Nou Camp for the foreseeable future.
