Arsenal fans react on Twitter to Sagna confirming summer exit

Bacary Sagna has made his intentions to leave Arsenal this summer clear.

It has been a long time coming, but Arsenal defender Bacary Sagna has confirmed he is leaving the club this summer.

The French international is out of contract this summer and it has long been rumoured that he will turn down the offer of a new deal at The Emirates. It certainly looked he was on his way out on his last day at The Emirates, walking around the pitch and waving goodbye to the fans. It also didn't help that Yaya Sanogo practically confirmed the news on his official Facebook account.

He told L'Equipe yesterday:

“It’s not longer a secret, I will leave Arsenal for sure. They [Arsenal] tried to make an effort but the discussions have not gone as I wished. There is no ideal end but it was a dream to finish like that, at Wembley, with the cup. It was an honour to wear the shirt.”

The likes of Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain, Monaco, Fenerbahce, Galatasaray and Inter Milan have all been linked with the player, and with good reason. He has had a good campaign for The Gunners. During his time at The Emirates he has proven himself as one of the best right-backs in the Premier League - and it is certainly a shame that Arsenal will lose him.

But it would appear the lure of more silverware has won him over - while it is also believed he was simply not offered the type of contract he was after.

The 31-year-old will now be seeking pastures new, but what do the Arsenal fans make of it.

Here is some reaction on Twitter to his confirmed departure this summer...
