Tottenham Hotspur transfer news: Pochettino lining up double raid on Serie A giants

A round up of transfer stories this morning about Tottenham Hotspur.

Mauricio Pochettino could be lining up his first signing as new head coach of Spurs.

Tottenham are being linked with a move for Roma forward Mattia Destro, one of the most talented young attacking players in Serie A.

He’s valued at around the £14 million mark having scored 13 goals in 20 league appearances last season.

Tottenham are one of the sides in the hunt for another Roma player, Mehdi Benatia.

The central defender reportedly wants a bigger contract in Italy, with the right deal yet to be offered to him by the Serie A giants.

Spurs are well in the mix of sides linked with making moves with him along with the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United.

Spurs have been tipped to beat Manchester United to the signing of Southampton left-back Luke Shaw.

The club have a natural advantage with Pochettino as their new boss although the cost of the teenager may be a problem.

United are prepared to pay up to £30 million for the defender, which is well over half of Tottenham’s reported summer budget.
