The top five players linked with signing for Chelsea this week: Pogba, Kroos and more

Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich and Juventus stars all feature.

Jose Mourinho has been a very active person in the transfer market already according to latest reports.

The Portuguese coach seems determined to ensure that Chelsea fans aren’t forced to endure another season without silverware by next May, with the Blues linked with some top players on a daily basis.

Here are five of the best from the past week.

Diego Costa (Atletico Madrid)

Not a week goes by when Costa’s name doesn’t appear on this list. Following his very brief Champions League final appearance, the Blues could be offered extra hope and time to do a deal for him if he doesn’t go to the World Cup with Spain because of a hamstring problem.

Paul Pogba (Juventus)

Pogba is one of the best creative midfielders in the world at the moment so it’s no surprise Chelsea have been linked with going after him. He’s valued at anywhere between the £65-70 million price bracket, which would stretch even a club like Chelsea who enjoy vast resources and wealth.

Toni Kroos (Bayern Munich)

Kroos has been heavily linked with Manchester United, but with Louis van Gaal apparently ruling out a move, the Blues could step in and take advantage. Kroos has everything needed to be a long term replacement for the experienced figure of Frank Lampard.

Tiago (Atletico Madrid)

Some Chelsea fans would be more than happy to see Tiago at the club for a second spell while others will question the motive of the signing. Mourinho seems keen to sign a player he trusts and add a little more forward thinking into his midfield having failed to replace Juan Mata, when he was sold to Manchester United.

Felipe Luis (Atletico Madrid)

Another star Chelsea could potentially poach from the Spanish champions is the talented left-back. With Ashley Cole not staying at the club, Mourinho loses a lot of experience and quality from his back four. Luis would be a top quality addition to the Chelsea defence.
