England go into the World Cup this summer with not many anticipating an open top bus parade upon their return. Their tough group containing Uruguay, Italy and Costa Rica does not fill many with mass optimism ahead of the tournament.
However Roy Hodgson has selected a positive looking young squad which has at least given most England fans hope for the future. Who knows, perhaps they could spring a shock after all?
But it cannot just be down to the youngsters, the experienced players have to turn up as well. Perhaps none more so than Wayne Rooney. He has struggled at his two previous World Cup appearances, infamously lambasting the English fans on camera after a lacklustre draw with Algeria.
This time round he wants to live up to his billing, and finally show the world on the biggest stage just what he is capable of.
And now he has revealed the music he hopes will inspire him to do just that.
He shared his Spotify playlist on Twitter yesterday and we have checked it out to see what tunes he will hope pump him up for action in Brazil.

No surprise to see the Stereophonics involved, he has their lyrics tattooed on his body.
But James Blunt, Goodbye My Lover, maybe for the plane ride home Wayne!?
