Michael Dawson and Andros Townsend are both on Harry Redknapp's wishlist for this summer, according to reports.
After securing promotion, thanks to a last minute Bobby Zamora strike against Derby in the playoff final on Sunday, Harry Redknapp is already plotting to make Queens Park Rangers a force in the Premier League.
An expert in the transfer market, Redknapp has wasted no time searching for his transfer targets and, according to the Express, two of them belong to Spurs, with Michael Dawson and Andros Townsend both on the manager’s wish-list.
The English duo are both well known to Redknapp, having been part of his squad when he was in-charge at White Hart Lane, and the 67-year-old is keen to bring them to Loftus Road as he looks to equip his QPR with a squad capable of playing at the top level of English football.
Townsend is reportedly available for around £8 million, although QPR are likely to try and take him on loan for a season rather than buy him permanently, whilst Dawson is slightly cheaper, being priced by his current employers at £4 million.
QPR are not likely to find any problems stumping up the cash after the influx of money coming into the club through getting promoted to the Premier League - and the riches that the owners possess.
The stumbling block may be more in terms of whether Townsend or Dawson will give up their chance of playing in a side aiming in the Premier League for one who are expected to be in a relegation battle for much of the season.
Neither are guaranteed starters at White Hart Lane, but both were fairly regular choices in Spurs’ starting line-up last season, when available, and they would be fantastic additions to QPR’s team.
The R’s are yet to make their first signing of the summer, but they have been linked with a range of players – with the Spurs duo being amongst the most reputed.
Also rumoured to be heading to Loftus Road are the likes of Rio Ferdinand and Frank Lampard, with Redknapp seemingly having no qualms over signing ageing players.
