Liverpool transfer target speaks out over his future

Xherdan Shaqiri seems to want a move away from the Allianz Arena.

Liverpool target Xherdan Shaqiri seems prepared to leave Bayern Munich according to reports.

Shaqiri is seen as an alternative if the Reds fail to land Adam Lallana with it being reported that Liverpool are not prepared to pay more the £30m for the highly rated Southampton midfielder.

22-year-old Shaqiri is quoted, saying: "It's clear that I cannot continue like this. If nothing changes, I will have to make some changes myself.

"I want to play in the important games as well and not just in the Bundesliga. I don't want to go through another year like this.

"I only want to play for a major club. The Champions League is important to me. We will see what happens.

"England would be an option. If I were to leave Bayern, it will be for a foreign club. But it will have to be a club challenging for the title."

With Shaqiri being younger, some Liverpool fans may see him as the better option even if he does not have the Premier League experience of the 26-year-old Lallana.

But he has also been part of a side that is used to winning trophies having been part of the Bayern side that has dominated the last three seasons in Germany, as well as being crowned European Champions in 2013.

The Swiss international has been linked with Serie A Champions Juventus along with Liverpool’s fierce rivals Manchester United.

Some reports are suggesting that Liverpool have offered as much as £15m for the player who scored seven goals in all competitions for Bayern last season as they won the Bundesliga title along with the DFB Pokal.
